DRY NEEDLING

Acupuncture

Dry needling similar yet different from Acupuncture involves the insertion of a fine thin metal needle into the muscle to release the tension of the muscles, and fascia. The main use of dry needling to treat myofascial pain (muscle and fascia pain) and help with range of motion and flexibility.

Similar to acupuncture, the needles contain no liquid and nothing is being injected into the body.

The procedure can be uncomfortable at times and is used after consent is obtained from the patient after a thorough and detailed history and examination have been conducted.

Dry needling is almost always used in combination with other forms of treatments such as Graston, Active Release Technique, and spinal manipulation.
