Traditional Acupuncture
Similar to Medical Acupuncture, the practice of Traditional Acupuncture originated in China approximately 3000 years ago. This technique was originally used for relieving pain, curing disease, and improving general health through establishing balance in the body, which carries into its use today. It was believed that illness occurred through the breakdown of this active and passive forces in the body, and therefore Traditional Acupuncture in conjunction with other forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) aimed to re-establish this equilibrium in one's body.
Traditional Acupuncture is often used in combination with other TCM practices, such as cupping, herbal therapy, and forms of massage to treat a variety of conditions and restore balance in the body.
